Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of physical medicine that originated in China over 4000 years ago. It uses very thin, sterile needles inserted into strategic points on the body to manipulate and balance the flow of energy through the body.

Oriental medicine is mainly concerned with the concept of balance. They believe that when we are in balance, our bodies function optimally: our organs function well, our sleep is restful, we are resistant to disease, we recover quickly from injury, and our reproductive capacity is functional. For a variety of reasons, this balance can become disturbed. Imbalance gives rise to many symptoms, including infertility.

The infertility studies regarding the benefits of acupuncture are challenging to interpret. Several studies may show some benefit to the patient. Dr. Jeris Cox of Adore Fertility supports a patient’s pursuit of alternative medicine in their fertility efforts.

Nutrition/Exercise

Women closer to their healthy body weight have better odds of conception than women who are over or under their ideal weight. In addition, there is evidence that conditions such as PCOS may improve with dietary modification, exercise, and ultimately weight loss. Maintaining a healthy body weight will only enhance fertility rates in all cases.

“Dr. Cox is by far the best doctor I have ever had! She was with us while she was on active duty, caring for military families. Not only did she stick by me and my husband through all the years of my fertility journey, but she also delivered my handsome little boy!"
