Dr. Jeris Cox, MD
Dr. Jeris Cox received her bachelor’s in science degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She received her medical doctorate from Albany Medical School in Albany, New York. She was awarded an Army Health Professions Scholarship during her first year of medical school. She thus joined the Army as an active-duty soldier to further her medical training while also serving for her country. She attended OB/GYN residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and was awarded the Army Achievement Medal upon graduation. She graduated from a very competitive reproductive endocrinology and infertility fellowship immediately following her residency at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in 2015. From 2012 to 2015, she received multiple awards from ASRM (American Society of Reproductive Medicine) and ACOG (American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology) for her research, papers, or presentations at annual meetings. From fellowship, as an active-duty Major, she petitioned to start up a fertility clinic at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital in the south of DC, where patients were underserved in this field. In July of 2015, she began the clinic at Fort Belvoir and was able to help thousands of military members and their dependents in their fertility journeys to grow their families. In 2015, she was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal for her willingness to start up a new fertility clinic to serve the needs of the military. She retired from the Army in 2020, after serving for 12 years on active duty, and moved to Charleston, SC, to fulfill her dream of owning her practice with plans to provide female-to-female centered care at lower costs.
Dr. Cox is board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility from the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology (ABOG). Recently, she delivered babies in her free time in the local Charleston hospital systems. At the same time, Dr. Cox grew her fertility business administratively. While she loved inpatient obstetrics and will no longer be delivering, she is excited to entirely focus her time back on the specialty she loves the most, helpingĀ love grow life at Adore Fertility. She is trained in robotics, is still involved in fibroid research, and has a passion for fertility preservation. Dr. Cox’s published research is featured in many well-known medical journals. During her free time, her hobbies include spending time with her dog Kiona, volunteering at dog rescues, cooking for friends & family, paddle boarding, relearning how to surf, traveling pre-COVID, and spending time with her amazing nephew. She has an interest in culinary school someday in her free time.
