Where Love Grows Life For LGBTQ+ Families

Adore Fertility is proud to offer same-sex couples options to build their families with the help of fertility treatments. The best place to start is a fertility consultation with Dr. Jeris Cox. During the initial consultation with Dr. Cox, you and your partner will discuss your medical history, diagnostic testing, potential treatment, and financial options. Adore Fertility will conduct additional fertility testing for both partners following your consultation.

Your Adore Fertility team will work with you to develop the most appropriate treatment regimen to achieve your dreams of parenthood. Same-sex couple treatment plans may include:

  • Sperm donation
  • Intrauterine insemination (IUI)
  • In vitro fertilization (IVF)
  • Egg Donation
  • Surrogacy

Consider your family planning goals and share those with Dr. Cox. For example, reflect on sperm or egg donor and anonymous donors, and discuss which partner will carry the pregnancy. Once you receive all the information from your tests and discussions with Dr. Cox, you and your partner can decide on the best course of treatment.

Some treatments that may be best for biologically born female partner families include:

IUI

Donor sperm can be used in intrauterine insemination if the hormonal testing and hysterosalpingogram results are normal. The sperm is placed directly into the carrier’s uterus through a small catheter that passes through the cervix during this procedure.

IVF

For female-female partners, the IVF Cycle uses donor sperm with one partner undergoing the entire IVF cycle. Some variations occur for female-female partner IVF, where both partners undergo tests and take medications to boost their Fertility. In this case, one partner provides the egg, and the other partner carries the pregnancy. The partner who will donate her eggs will also undergo an egg retrieval procedure. Once matured, the eggs are inseminated with the donor sperm and transferred into the other partner’s uterus. This method can be more complicated and, therefore, more expensive.

Some treatments that may be best for biologically born male partner families include:

Sperm

Male-male partners decide together which partner will provide sperm. The option for each partner to provide sperm to fertilize half of the eggs is available. The partner(s) giving sperm will undergo a semen analysis to test motility, volume, concentration, and morphology.

Egg Donation

The couple can review Adore Fertility, egg donors, choose donors from an outside agency, or even choose a family member or close friend to donate eggs. The selected egg donor will undergo screening to evaluate her hormone levels and health.

Surrogacy

A referral to an agency specializing in gestational surrogacy will set this option in motion. It is possible to use someone that you know as your gestational carrier. We will work closely with you during either process.

IVF

The IVF treatment cycle begins once an egg donor and sperm source are determined. Following the medication portion of the process, the donor is ready for egg retrieval. The eggs will be retrieved and fertilized in the Adore laboratory with the chosen sperm.

“Dr. Cox is by far the best doctor I have ever had! She was with us while she was on active duty, caring for military families. Not only did she stick by me and my husband through all the years of my fertility journey, but she also delivered my handsome little boy!"
